Enter the world of “Welcome to the Forest” by hosting your very own harvest party! Teachers are encouraged to use the “plan your own harvest party” material at the back of the book in preparation, but not required

• Partial reading of “Welcome to the Forest: The Harvest Party”

• A look at the creative process, using Jack-o-lantern faces, audience participation

• Jack-o-lantern face craft (paper plates and cut paper)

• Can combine with the class’ fall/halloween festivities

• Includes coloring and activity sheet printables

From Ideas to the Page: Making Books

(K-5th, can be adapted for older art classes)

A look into the production process of making a picture book or comic. I hope to inspire young artists to dive deep into their creativity and learn how ideas are honed into a book, emphasizing that there is no right or wrong way to make a book.
